Why I will NEVER stop wearing eyelash extensions.
Ten years strong in the eyelash extension game!
Imagine me, at 85 years old. Picture me hopping on an access bus for seniors. Where am I going? What am I doing? Am I visiting my grandkids? Nope! I am making the bus drop me off at Dulce Lash Lounge to get my bi-monthly eyelash fill. It is EYELASH EXTENSIONS FO’ LIFE over here!
How I discovered eyelash extensions: I think I was literally part of the first group of women, in the PNW, to get eyelash extensions. I remember watching a tv show and saw a woman from California talking about her fabulous eyelash extensions. Glued to the tv, I watched while a clip of the process was shown. As soon as that woman opened her eyes and I saw her full, beautiful, luscious fake eyelashes, I WAS SOLD! I began Googling places in the Seattle area that offered extension services. Being that the service was so new, I found about four places. I found a spot near my house and immediately booked an appointment. Flash forward ten years later and you can find an eyelash place on every block, like Starbucks!
Why I decided to get eyelash extensions: My natural lash-game was not cool. I had lashes, but they were fine and short… basically nonexistent. As I got more and more into makeup, I realized in order to complete my look, I needed full lashes. I started wearing strip lashes 3-4 times a week. I was paying upward of $30.00 per week to keep my lash-habit going. We all know how putting strip lashes on goes; one time, I think I glued my lash to my eyebrow. The strips were never on even and when I was without them, I felt like a baby animal with no fur… BALD. Once I saw that show, it was a no-brainer for me. Wit’s extensions, I would essentially SAVE money AND I would wake up with lashes ready to slay, every day!
My first lash appointment: I had no clue what to expect. I laid down on a table and relaxed for about two hours, while my eyelash-game was slowly transformed, FOREVER! When I sat up and looked in the mirror for the first time, I could have cried, I was so happy. I instantly became addicted and knew my eyelash-game would be strong for life! Over the years, I have worn pink lashes, purple lashes, blue and even green lashes!
Where I get my lashes done: I have been going to Dulce Lash Lounge, in Mercer Island, for about five years. However, I did not start off getting my lashes done there…
I started off at a different “place,” (the “place” shall remain nameless). One of the employees, named Angela, started doing my lashes on a regular basis. After a while, (and some weird drama) Angela left the “place.” At this point, she and I had developed a relationship. I was loyal and willing to follow Angela wherever she went and coincidentally she ended up following me! During the process of finding a new studio to work at, she did my lashes at my house, on a chase lounge, with one crying baby in my lap and one running around screaming. Now, that’s love! Angela never found a studio to work for… she opened her own! This is when Dulce Lash Lounge was born. Now, there are multiple locations! It’s very special to have developed a friendship with Angela. We talk about everything and our favorite topic is reality tv. I am proud of all the success she has had and honored to be one of her original customers.
What I’ve learned after 10 years of getting lash extensions: I have learned that I can’t live without them! They have changed my face game, forever! They are convenient, the fills are fast and eyelash extensions fill my “extra-ness” tank to the max!
Have you tried eyelash extensions? If so, what are your thoughts?
