One hundred rides later and a lifetime worth of memories!
Last year, around this time, I wrote my first blog about Soul Cycle and how incredibly awesome my first experience was.
A couple of weeks ago, I rode my 100th ride at Soul Cycle Bellevue. Soul Cycle has undoubtedly become an addiction of mine. Over the course of one year, I have grown to become obsessed with not only riding but the instructors, the atmosphere and the staff. I can honestly say Soul Cycle is one of my preferred “happy places.”
Over the course of one year, I have gone from struggling to keep up during class, to living for the struggle, loving the challenge and craving to be pushed. Do not get me wrong, 100 rides later I can self-proclaim that I am pretty much a Soul Cycle gangsta! I still get tired, but when I am in my ZONE, in the pocket, and in my lane, you better watch out. As soon as the music starts, it’s as if I am somewhere else having the best time EVER! All of my cares, worries, tiredness, and doubt dissipate. The energy and positivity make me feel like I can do anything! Not to mention, the relationships you form with the people riding next to you. My ride game has elevated to the next level, and I will continue to keep pushing to get better and better.
In one year, I have gone from saying a simple, “Hello” to the staff and instructors to saying, “Hey, YALL!” to my friends. I believe this is one of the qualities that sets Soul Cycle apart from the rest. EVERYONE that works there is so kind, genuinely cares about every person and they celebrate everyone and all of their achievements. Connecting and relating to everyone isn’t easy to do; it isn’t easy to devote time to getting to know all of the people that come into their studio, take an interest in their lives and to be there for them when they are in need. It takes a tremendous amount of effort and a huge heart to do so. Recently, I went through something rough. The support, care and love the staff and instructors showed me during this time was mind-blowing. I cannot thank them enough for being so kind and gracious during my difficult time.
I was so blessed to be able to do my 100th ride with some of my closest friends. I was beyond excited to show them what I get up, sometimes at 5:00 am, for, what I talk so intensely about, and to let them experience my Soul Cycle love for themselves. Earl was our instructor, and he made me feel like a queen! For 45 minutes, we partied on our bikes and not only celebrated my milestone, but we celebrated LIFE! My friends all had an awesome ride, and it was certainly a day I will cherish forever!
Over the past twelve months, I have yelled, danced, hugged, cried, laughed, prayed, sweat, adjusted my ponytail, inhaled, exhaled and tapped it back one million times over. There have been moments of overwhelming gratitude, of sheer power and undying appreciation for life, love, and the ability to be who I am and never be ashamed.
